A public street and postal code directory for Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland via an open REST API.
OpenPLZ API is an open data project providing a public street and postal code directory for Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and Austria through a REST API. For each country it exposes administrative units (such as federal states, cantons, districts, and municipalities), postal codes, localities, and street names, with Switzerland and Austria data including canton/district information and Germany including district, administrative region, and federal state details.
The API supports lookups by name or postal code, with flexible filtering via POSIX regular expression syntax, as well as a full-text search across street name, postal code, and locality name for each country. Query results are paginated, returning a default of 50 entries per page, with page and pageSize parameters available to control the result set.
This is aimed at developers who need structured, queryable postal and administrative geography data for these four countries, accessible via plain HTTP requests (demonstrated in the documentation using curl).
