About Pinball Map

Pinball Map provides an API exposing data about pinball machine locations, submitted and maintained by users across regions. It covers resources for locations (search by coordinates, address, bounding box, or city, plus details, pictures, and confirmations), the machines present at each location, high scores per machine, operators, regions, zones, and user accounts and submissions.

The API is intended for services extending Pinball Map's data or building on top of it, not for creating a clone location-finder app, which is against the site's data usage agreement. Access requires an API key requested through the site, and keys must be kept server-side rather than embedded in client-side code. Attribution is required when using the data, and heavy or rapid request volumes are discouraged.

Endpoints support both read operations (fetching locations, machines, scores, operators, regions, submissions) and write operations (suggesting locations, adding machines or pictures, submitting high scores, managing user favorites and life lists, and account management functions like signup, password reset, and email updates).

  • Track and submit high scores for machines (machine_score_xrefs)
  • Suggest new locations and add location pictures
  • Fetch regions, operators, zones, and user submission activity feeds
  • Manage user accounts and favorite/life-list locations
