About Metadapi Zip Code

The US Zip Code API provides REST endpoints for retrieving United States ZIP code data, including lookups by ZIP code, search by city or state, distance calculations between two ZIP codes or between a ZIP code and coordinates, radius searches, and Metropolitan/Micropolitan Statistical Area lookups. It combines data from USPS, the Census Bureau (Gazetteer Files and Decennial Census), the Office of Management and Budget, FIPS, ANSI, and IRS Statistics of Income, so responses include geographic, demographic, and economic attributes beyond standard USPS fields, including a dedicated endpoint for IRS income tax statistics by ZIP code.

The API returns structured JSON and includes a status endpoint for monitoring availability. Documentation covers all endpoints with sample responses, code generators, and a GitHub repository with code samples.

Three subscription tiers are offered: a free tier (5,000 API calls/month, 2MB bandwidth, 1 concurrent call/second, email support), a Basic tier at $75/month (1,000,000 API calls/month, unlimited bandwidth, 2 concurrent calls/second, dedicated support), and a Professional tier at $275/month (13,000,000 API calls/month, unlimited bandwidth, 5 concurrent calls/second, dedicated support). The database is updated monthly with USPS ZIP code changes.
