About VerifyEd

VerifyEd provides a REST API for searching and verifying school records, built on government-sourced data covering over 912,000 school entries. The API supports search by school name, CEEB code, or IB code, with autocomplete for typeahead interfaces, country and state filtering, and pagination. Each school record can include verification status, confidence scores, accreditation data, geocoding, and Street View imagery, with a background enrichment process available to add or refresh this data.

The API also cross-references search results against a list of known diploma mills, returning a match indicator and confidence score with each query, and supports batch screening of multiple schools with results retrievable as CSV. Most endpoints are public and do not require authentication, though API key management endpoints exist for administrative use, and requests are rate-limited per IP with usage reported via response headers.

This is aimed at developers building applications that need to verify educational credentials or school legitimacy, such as background-check tools, admissions or HR systems, or credential-verification workflows. Endpoints are organized around search and discovery, individual school detail retrieval, enrichment, AI-assisted research, batch screening, team webhooks, and platform status/health checks.
