About Open Bank Project
Open Bank Project is an open source API platform for building, managing, and securing APIs in compliance with open banking standards, including UK Open Banking, Berlin Group, and Bahrain OBF. It provides an API sandbox, developer tools, and an API explorer, and supports use cases such as transaction requests, payments (including SEPA credit transfers), consent management, and account/counterparty data.
The platform serves two main audiences: banks, which can use it for open banking compliance, API sandboxes, API strategy, blockchain banking services, and fintech hackathons; and regulators, which can use it for regulatory advisory services and regulatory sandboxes to monitor fintech innovation. It also offers developer resources including a getting-started guide and personalized training courses.
The project is developed by TESOBE GmbH, a Berlin-based consulting firm, and has been in development since 2010. The source code is publicly available on GitHub, and TESOBE states it has worked with and advised over 100 banks and regulators globally.
