OpenFIGI provides an API for mapping the Financial Instrument Global Identifier (FIGI) to other market identifiers and related Open Symbology data. It offers multiple endpoints, including mapping instruments to identifiers and keyword-based search for instruments, with results returned in the order requested and narrowable through descriptive filters.

The API is free to use with no daily, weekly, or monthly limits, and requires an API key to access. The same key works across all offered interfaces for querying Open Symbology data.

It is aimed at developers and organizations needing to map or search large sets of financial instruments, with code examples provided through the OpenFIGI/api-examples GitHub repository.
