Open data about nobel prizes and events.
Nobelprize.org provides open data about the Nobel Prizes and Nobel Laureates through a REST API and Linked Data. The API is available in two versions: version 2 (current version 2.1), which returns JSON or CSV and offers a laureates endpoint and a nobelPrizes endpoint, and version 1, which is maintained for compatibility but no longer updated and returns a shorter form of laureate names. No API key or registration is required to use either version. The data is updated as information on the site changes, including at the time of new laureate announcements.
The Linked Data offering consists of a set of RDF relations describing the Nobel Prizes and Laureates, including a SPARQL endpoint for querying. Both the API and Linked Data have published terms of use and documentation, with the API documentation available in an interactive form for testing and exploration.
This is aimed at developers building applications that use historical and current Nobel Prize data, including laureate information and prize details, in either a REST/JSON format or as RDF-based linked data.
The data is free to use, and there is no need to register for an API key.
The API returns results as JSON or CSV, with JSON-LD planned as a future format.
No registration or API key is required to use the API or the Linked Data.
It provides information about the Nobel Prizes and Nobel Laureates, updated as information on nobelprize.org changes, including at announcement time.
Yes, API version 1 remains available for compatibility, though it is no longer being updated, alongside the current version 2.1.
