LinkPreview is a JSON API that extracts preview information—title, description, image, and canonical URL—from any submitted URL. It follows Open Graph and related web page standards to generate the preview data, and maintains direct integrations with a set of popular content providers including Amazon, YouTube, Twitter, Wikipedia, Airbnb, The New York Times, The Guardian, SoundCloud, TED Talks, Vimeo, and Giphy to improve accuracy for those sites.

The service is aimed at developers building link preview features into apps or websites, such as showing rich previews when a URL is shared in a chat or social app. It has been operational since 2014 and states it serves millions of requests per day.

Access is offered through a Free Plan (personal use only, 60 requests/hour) and paid tiers: Basic at $8/month (200 requests/hour, additional fields, usage analytics, personal use), Pro at $25/month (1000 requests/hour, additional fields, image processing, usage analytics, commercial use), and Enterprise at $119/month (100 requests/minute, additional fields, image processing, usage analytics, commercial use, with contact sales for higher volume). Paid plans activate automatically after purchase and can be canceled at any time; orders are processed through Paddle.com as merchant of record. A per-domain rate limit (max 1 request/second/unique domain) may apply to protect smaller websites.
