About GeoDataSource

GeoDataSource Location Search Web Service is a REST API that looks up location information from a latitude and longitude coordinate pair. It consists of two endpoints: a Nearest City API that returns a single matching city, and a Nearest Cities API that returns a list of cities within 20km of the input coordinate. Responses are returned in JSON or XML and include country code, region, city, latitude, longitude, currency code, currency name, currency symbol, sunrise and sunset times, and time zone.

The service is intended for developers who need geocoding-adjacent location data without hosting or maintaining their own city database. A free tier provides 500 credits and supports up to 500 queries per month over HTTP or HTTPS; paid tiers of 10,000, 50,000, and 250,000 credits per month are priced at $50, $125, and $300 USD per month respectively, with monthly auto-renewal and auto-recharge. Sample request code is provided for PHP, Java, VB.NET, C#, Python, curl, and Ruby.
