Open Collective provides an API for accessing platform data related to collectives, an alternative to traditional company structures used for managing shared finances transparently. The primary interface is a public GraphQL API, which is the actively maintained option, while a REST API remains available but is no longer under active development. The REST API exposes endpoints for retrieving member lists, collective information, membership tiers, and transaction history.

A separate PDF service generates financial documents, including contribution receipts, expense invoices, and bundled receipts for a fiscal host over a given period. This service accepts authentication via either a personal access token or an OAuth authorization header.
