About IIN API

IIN API provides IIN (Issuer Identification Number) and BIN (Bank Identification Number) lookup and verification through a RESTful web API. It identifies the card issuer or bank, card type, and country of issue from the first 6 to 11 digits of a credit or debit card number, and supports 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11-digit BIN/IIN formats, including the newer 8-digit standard used by Visa and Mastercard.

The API is consumed via a single HTTP GET request with an appended API key and returns responses in JSON format, with call logs maintained for usage audits. It supports optional IP address whitelisting to restrict key usage to authorized servers. Typical uses include fraud detection and prevention, such as flagging mismatches between a cardholder's billing IP location, shipping address, and the card's country of issue, as well as customer analytics.

Pricing is pay-as-you-go with no usage rate limits: the first 75 API calls per month are free, with per-call rates decreasing at higher volume tiers (from $0.0035 per call at 76-250 calls down to $0.001 for additional calls beyond 20,000). Billing is NET30 with no long-term contract and can be canceled anytime. The company also offers a related User Agent parsing API (UserAgent.app) and a geolocation API (PointP.in).
