Icons8's OMG-IMG is a service for embedding icons directly into HTML by writing a URL, without exporting or hosting icon files. An image tag pointing to img.icons8.com retrieves an icon by name, matched to the closest available result, and served through a CDN.

The URL supports parameters for color (hex codes), style (over 80 available), and size or resolution, allowing customization without image editing tools. Icons are delivered in PNG format, with a free tier capped at 512px; larger sizes and other formats require a license or API integration. Each style has a defined pixel-perfect size, and multiple sizes or resolution factors (e.g., "2x") can be specified to avoid scaling artifacts.

The service is aimed at developers building UI products who want to offload icon handling from their application logic. Icons8 also offers desktop apps for Mac, Windows, and Linux, and plugins for Figma, Google Docs, Photoshop, and Illustrator, along with a separate outline icon set called Line Awesome and a design application called Lunacy.
