Weather.
ColorfulClouds Weather API provides global weather data through a REST endpoint accessed by latitude and longitude, returning JSON (with JSONP support for web integration). It covers realtime, hourly (up to 24-hour), and daily (up to 10-day) forecasts, along with a minute-by-minute nowcasting service for near-term precipitation that depends on regional radar data coverage across listed countries in Europe, Oceania, Asia, North America, and South America. Air quality forecasting is offered for mainland China.
The API supports multiple unit systems (Metric, Imperial, and SI/International System of Units) and returns natural-language weather condition descriptions in Chinese, English, and Japanese. Available variables include temperature, pressure, relative humidity, wind direction and speed, cloud rate, downward shortwave radiation, and visibility, each available at realtime, hourly, and daily granularity. The nowcasting service can be queried as pointwise data for a specific location or as forecasted radar images and data matrices.
The service targets weather app developers, system control and IoT applications, planning tools requiring short- or long-term forecasts, and web applications needing embedded weather data. It has been operating since 2014, reports a public service pool capacity of 300 million to 800 million API calls per day, 99.94% availability over the past year, and offers a private service pool for high-demand clients. Access requires signing up for an API token, with a rate-limited demo token available for testing.
It offers a REST JSON API and also a JSONP endpoint with callback support for web application integration.
A demo token is available for testing with a limited, periodically renewed quota, but production use requires signing up for your own token.
General weather forecasts are available globally at any latitude and longitude, while minute-by-minute nowcasting is supported in specific countries across Europe, Oceania, Asia, North America, and South America, and air quality forecasting covers all of China.
The public service pool handles 300M to 800M API calls per day with 99.94% availability over the past year, and a private service pool is available for large-demand clients.
It is designed for weather app developers, IoT and system control scenarios, planning applications needing short- and long-term forecasts, and web applications.
