About Wallhaven

Wallhaven provides a REST API (v1) offering GET access to its wallpaper platform via URL-based requests. It supports retrieving individual wallpaper details by ID, including metadata such as resolution, file size, file type, category, purity rating, colors, tags, and thumbnail/full-size image URLs.

The API includes a search and listing endpoint supporting the same parameters as the site's web search: tag-based queries (fuzzy, exact, exclude, combined), filtering by category, purity, resolution, aspect ratio, and color, plus sorting by date added, relevance, random, views, favorites, or toplist ranking. Results are paginated at 24 per page, and random sorts can use a seed to avoid repeats across pages. Additional endpoints cover tag information lookup, authenticated user settings retrieval, and browsing a user's wallpaper collections (public collections for any user, or private collections for the authenticated user).

Access to NSFW content and to a user's personal settings or private collections requires an API key generated from account settings, which can be regenerated at any time. The API is intended for developers building applications or integrations that need programmatic access to Wallhaven's wallpaper search, metadata, and user collection data.
