Visual Crossing provides a weather API delivering historical weather data, real-time conditions, forecasts, and historical forecast information through a single-endpoint query. The underlying dataset combines more than 50 years of global observations with current conditions and forecasts, spanning over 302 terabytes of weather data and 331.7 billion data points. The service reports 276,100 active users and over 21.43 billion queries completed.

The API is aimed at developers and businesses integrating weather data into applications, with use cases spanning logistics, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, retail and eCommerce, construction and real estate, insurance and risk management, academia, and workplace planning. Data can be queried for past, current, or future conditions at hyperlocal resolution and returned in flexible formats for integration into other systems.

Alongside the core API, Visual Crossing offers an AI Code Builder that generates ready-to-run API request code in languages including Python, JavaScript, Java, R, and C#, and a no-code Query Builder for constructing and previewing data requests, including CSV export and RESTful URL generation. Additional tools include a Live Weather Map for previewing map-layer data (precipitation, lightning, temperature, wind, radar) for integration with platforms like Google Maps, Leaflet, or Mapbox, and a History Dashboard for visualizing historical weather data by location and date range back to 1970, which links directly into the Query Builder for further customization.
