This is a REST API providing access to public transit data for Berlin and Brandenburg, Germany (VBB - Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg). It returns JSON data and does not require authentication, though it enforces a rate limit of 100 requests per minute with a burst allowance of 200 requests per minute.

The API wraps the hafas-client library and exposes endpoints for finding stops and stations (by ID, nearby coordinates, or reachability from an address), retrieving departures and arrivals at a given stop, searching journeys and trips, looking up locations (stops, points of interest, and addresses), and accessing lines, shapes, and maps. Query parameters allow filtering by product type (suburban S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram, bus, ferry, IC/ICE, regional trains), date and time, language, and result count.

This is aimed at developers building applications that need Berlin-area public transit information, such as journey planners, departure boards, or location-based transit lookups. An OpenAPI playground is available for interactive exploration of the endpoints.
