Materials Platform for Data Science (MPDS) is a database and API providing access to materials science data, including phase diagrams, crystalline structures, physical properties, electron properties, phonon spectra, thermodynamic properties, mechanical properties, and phase transitions. Data is sourced from peer-reviewed journal articles, combined with ab initio calculations and machine learning research. The platform supports search by more than 15 criteria, along with analysis tools and interactive plots.

The platform offers a GUI and an API, each available at different access tiers. Open access provides free GUI use after login, with search, analysis tools, distinct phases and prototypes, and about 50,000 datasheets from 20,000 articles, plus API access to open data. GUI full access, priced at EUR 1,900 yearly per account, adds detailed visualizations and data display, export in more than 5 formats, high-quality phase diagrams, full references and DOIs, and about 3 million datasheets from 400,000 articles. API full access starts at EUR 9,500 yearly for academia and includes software-as-a-service delivery, machine-readable data, regular API and data updates, documentation and support, Optimade standard support, access to the MPDS materials ontology, and GUI full access.

An Enterprise tier is also available, offering unlimited GUI and API full access accounts, early access to new data, integration into third-party products, OAuth and LDAP integration, managed cloud or local installation, and dedicated R&D as a service. The platform is associated with ASM Databases.
