Predicted and actual air quality components for The Netherlands (RIVM).
Luchtmeetnet is an OpenAPI-based service providing access to air quality measurement data from monitoring stations across the Netherlands. It is an initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, RIVM, GGD Amsterdam, DCMR, the Province of Limburg, OMWB, and ODRA. The API exposes endpoints for components, stations, organisations, measurements, LKI (air quality index), and concentrations, with data updated on an hourly basis.
The API is publicly available at https://api.luchtmeetnet.nl/open_api and requires no authentication, operating under a fair use policy with a limit of 100 requests per 5 minutes. List endpoints use a paging mechanism, with page and order_by parameters configurable via URL query string.
The service is intended for accessing current station information and recent measurements. For large historical datasets, it directs users to the RIVM data portal, which offers downloadable yearly hourly values.
