About IQAir

IQAir's AirVisual API provides real-time and forecast air quality and weather data drawn from a network of over 80,000 ground-based sensors worldwide, supplemented with satellite AQI data and regulatory monitor readings for PM10 and PM2.5. Data outputs include AQI index values, pollutant concentrations (PM2.5, PM10, SO2, CO, O3, NO2), and weather metrics such as humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction. Inputs are processed through machine learning for validation, calibration, AQI estimation in unmonitored areas, and forecast modeling.

The API is offered at city level (all plans) and station level (Startup and Enterprise plans), and is intended for integration into apps, websites, IoT platforms, building management systems, and dashboards. Example uses cited include automating air purifiers, smart home integrations via Pipedream, environmental data visualizations, and real-time air quality alerts in building management systems.

Three plans are available: Community (free; 5 calls/minute, 500/day, 10,000/month; city-level overall AQI for US and China, real-time weather), Startup (100 calls/minute, 100,000/day, 1,000,000/month; adds station-level data and pollutant concentrations), and Enterprise (1,000 calls/minute, 1,000,000/day, 10,000,000/month; adds 7-day daily and 3-day hourly AQI forecasts, 7-day weather forecasts, and 48-hour historical air quality and weather data). Startup and Enterprise are available as monthly or annual subscriptions; pricing is not listed and requires contacting IQAir.
