About IPify

ipify is a public IP address API that returns the caller's public IPv4 or IPv6 address. Requests can be made via api.ipify.org (IPv4), api6.ipify.org (IPv6 only), or api64.ipify.org (IPv4/IPv6 universal), with responses available as plain text, JSON, or JSONP. Common use cases include cloud server provisioning and retrieving a public IP from behind a firewall.

The API is free to use without rate limits, does not log visitor information, and is open source, with its source code hosted on GitHub. Its infrastructure runs on Heroku.
