Stock market and financial data.
Financial Data is an API providing market and financial data covering stocks, international equities, ETFs, commodities, OTC securities, market indexes, options, futures, cryptocurrencies, and forex. It offers symbol lists, real-time and historical price data, minute-level prices, and quotes across these asset classes.
Beyond market data, the API exposes company information, financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow) for domestic and international companies, financial ratios, key metrics, market cap and employee counts, executive compensation, and securities information. It also covers market news and press releases, event calendars (earnings, IPOs, splits, dividends, economic events), economic indicators, insider and institutional trading data, ETF and mutual fund holdings, ESG scores and ratings, and investment adviser information.
Access is through REST API endpoints authenticated with an API key, with an offset parameter for paginating results beyond per-call record limits, and responses available in JSON or CSV format. An official Python SDK, an MCP server for AI agent integration, and an Excel add-in are provided for integration. A free subscription tier is available for at least some endpoints, including stock, international stock, and ETF symbol lists.
Yes, many endpoints such as stock symbols, international stock symbols, and ETF symbols are available under a free subscription.
Each request URL must include an API key as a query parameter, using ?key=API_KEY or &key=API_KEY if other parameters are already present.
An official Python SDK is available on GitHub, along with an official MCP server for AI agents and an Excel add-in for spreadsheet-based workflows.
Use the offset parameter to page through records, for example retrieving records 0-499 on the first call and 500-999 on the second.
Responses can be returned in either JSON or CSV format.
