About Ethplorer

Ethplorer is an API service for querying data about Ethereum and Ethereum-compatible tokens, addresses, transactions, and contracts. It exposes methods such as getLastBlock, getTokenInfo, getAddressInfo, getTxInfo, getTokenHistory, getAddressHistory, getAddressTransactions, getTop, getTopTokens, getTopTokenHolders, and getTokensNew. The same endpoints and API keys work across Ethereum Mainnet and several testnets (Sepolia, Holesky, Hoodi), as well as other chains including BNB Chain, Linea, and Blast L2, with a Bulk API available for monitoring many addresses at once.

Access requires an API key passed as a URL parameter. A free "freekey" is available for development use, limited to 2 requests per second, 20/minute, 100/hour, 1000/24 hours, and 3000/week, with responses capped at 100 transactions/operations and a maximum timestamp age of 30 days. A free personal API key, obtained by signing up for an Ethplorer account, raises limits to 10 requests per second, 1000 transactions/operations per response, and a maximum timestamp age of 1 year; only one key is permitted per project.

The service is aimed at developers building applications that need Ethereum blockchain data such as token information, balances, and transaction history. Use of the API requires displaying references to Ethplorer on the consuming website, or alternatively using Ethplorer's direct links to transactions or addresses. The provider states there is no warranty for the data supplied.
