About CurrencyScoop

CurrencyBeacon provides a RESTful API for real-time and historical foreign exchange and cryptocurrency rate data, covering more than 168 world currencies and over 2,000 cryptocurrencies. Historical data is available back to January 1, 1996. Exchange rate data is aggregated from multiple commercial sources and banks and returned in JSON format.

The API offers endpoints for the latest exchange rates, historical rates for a specific date, currency conversion between two currencies at a specified amount, a time-series endpoint for daily rates between two dates, and a currencies endpoint listing supported currency codes, names, and symbols. Requests are authenticated with an API key, passed either as a query parameter or as a Bearer token in the Authorization header, and all requests require HTTPS. The time-series endpoint is restricted to Startup and Pro plans.

The service is intended for developers building applications that require currency data, such as fintech applications, e-commerce stores, and investment dashboards, including use cases like auditing, accounting, trend analysis, and charting exchange rate volatility over time.
