Transitland API.
Transitland Datastore is the backend web service behind Transitland, a community-run and community-edited timetable and map of public transit service worldwide. It is built as a Ruby on Rails application backed by Postgres/PostGIS, with an asynchronous Sidekiq queue backed by Resque that runs Ruby and Python data-ingestion libraries.
The production instance is designed to run at https://transit.land/api/v1 as a centralized data source maintained by the community, comparable in model to the Rails application powering the openstreetmap.org API. Self-hosting is possible, though the project notes it is intended to operate as a single centralized deployment rather than many independent instances.
The repository includes technical documentation covering API endpoints, local setup instructions, configuration reference, development practices, conflation with OpenStreetMap data, the admin interface, and authentication. As of this README, the repository has been archived by its owner and is read-only.
