The Collins Dictionary REST API provides programmatic access to dictionary and thesaurus data across multiple Collins dictionaries, identified by a dictCode parameter. Endpoints cover listing available dictionaries, retrieving word-of-the-day entries (including a preview variant), searching for terms with pagination, first-match search, and spelling suggestions ("did you mean"). Responses are available in both JSON and XML formats.

Beyond search, the API exposes individual dictionary entries by entryId, along with related data such as nearby entries, pronunciations (with a language parameter), and related entries. It also provides thesaurus topic browsing by topic ID within a named thesaurus. This is a reference API suited for developers building applications that need dictionary lookups, word definitions, pronunciations, or thesaurus data.
