About Clockify

Clockify's REST API provides programmatic access to a time-tracking and workforce-management platform, covering users, workspaces, clients, projects, tasks, and time entries. It supports scheduling and capacity planning, holiday and time-off policy management, expense tracking, invoicing, and custom fields on workspaces and projects.

The API includes a separate reporting endpoint for generating shared, summary, detailed, weekly, attendance, and expense reports, as well as an audit log report. Webhooks are available for real-time notifications on events such as starting a timer or deleting an entry, and an experimental entity-changes API exposes created, updated, and deleted entities for syncing external systems.

Authentication is via an X-Api-Key or X-Addon-Token header, with workspace-specific keys required for subdomain-hosted workspaces. The API is intended for developers building integrations, custom reports, or add-ons for the CAKE.com Marketplace, and supports rate limiting and pagination.

Yes, webhooks let your add-on receive real-time notifications for events such as starting a timer or deleting a time entry.

What kind of reports can I generate via the API?

The Reports API supports detailed, summary, weekly, attendance, expense, and audit log reports, plus shared reports.

Who is this API for?

It's for developers building integrations or custom add-ons that push and pull data between Clockify and other tools, including add-ons for the CAKE.com Marketplace.

Where can I get help with the API?

Clockify support can be contacted directly, and questions can also be posted on Stack Overflow using the Clockify tag.
