ApicAgent is a REST API that parses user-agent strings to detect browser, operating system, device type, and other attributes. It offers both GET and POST endpoints, with the GET variant usable directly in a browser and the POST variant accepting the user-agent string inside a JSON object. The underlying data is based on Matomo's open source device database.

The service is intended for developers who need user-agent detection without maintaining their own parser libraries, supporting use cases such as tailoring buying funnels, customizing content, download prompts, advertisements, and spambot or crawler protection. It is free to use while in beta.
