Real time American Football (NFL/NCAA) highlights.
The Highlightly American Football API provides data for NFL and NCAA FBS football, covering preseason, regular season, playoffs, and championship games. It exposes endpoints for teams, matches, video highlights, standings, odds and bookmakers, lineups, players, head-to-head records, last five games, and match box scores, along with live play-by-play events and predictions.
Access requires an API key obtained through Highlightly or RapidAPI, sent via request headers, with responses returned in JSON only. Response headers report the request limit and remaining requests tied to the subscribed plan. The API is intended for developers building applications that need structured American football data such as scores, statistics, player profiles, and highlight video.
It provides real-time American football data including live scores, video highlights, game statistics, player profiles and stats, depth charts, standings, predictions, and live play-by-play events for NFL preseason, regular season, playoffs, and championship games plus NCAA FBS.
You create an account via Highlightly or RapidAPI to get an API key, which you send in the x-rapidapi-key header with requests to the Highlightly or RapidAPI base URL.
Both platforms let you view analytics, manage billing, and control API keys, but RapidAPI does not include custom plans or long-term plan discounts, and accounts are not synced across the two platforms.
Responses are always returned as application/json; XML format is not supported.
Each response includes x-ratelimit-requests-limit and x-ratelimit-requests-remaining headers, and you can view limits and quotas on the pricing page in the API Hub.
