About Watchmode

Watchmode provides a REST API delivering movie and TV metadata alongside streaming availability data. It covers over 200 streaming, rental, and free video services across more than 50 countries, returning information on titles, descriptions, release dates, genres, ratings, trailers, and images, as well as provider IDs, web links, and iOS/Android deeplinks for launching content in native apps. Availability data can be filtered by country and is refreshed daily.

The API supports lookups by title name, IMDB ID, TMDB ID, or Watchmode ID, and includes episode-level data showing which streaming service carries each season or episode, with corresponding deeplinks. Additional endpoints track daily changes such as new titles, streaming-source updates, metadata changes, and episode updates, allowing integrators to keep local databases current.

The service is intended for developers building search, discovery, recommendation, or where-to-watch applications for movies and TV shows. It does not provide video playback or access to copyrighted streams; users still need active subscriptions to the underlying services to watch content, and Watchmode is not affiliated with the streaming services it catalogs.
