About Sofiaplan

Sofiaplan is an open data platform operated by the Sofia municipal enterprise "Sofiaplan" (OP "Sofiaplan"), providing datasets used in or produced by the organization's urban planning and research work for the city of Sofia. Datasets cover categories such as addresses, archaeology, air quality, biodiversity, cycling networks, and water bodies, each with metadata including description, category, data source, relevance date, and file size, downloadable directly from the site.

Data is also accessible via a REST API at api.sofiaplan.bg, with a /version endpoint returning the current API version and a /datasets endpoint returning a JSON array of dataset metadata (id, name, description, category, provider, relevant_at, row_count, size). Individual datasets can be retrieved via /datasets/:id, returned as GeoJSON for geographic data or other formats for non-geographic data. Some geographic datasets are also viewable through the organization's GIS portal, which exposes developer links to different data-serving formats.

The site is intended for developers, researchers, and organizations who want to access or reuse open municipal data about Sofia. Data can be used freely; some data the organization works with, such as the cadastral map and land regulation data, is not published here and must be requested from its original source.
