About SkyBiometry

SkyBiometry provides a REST API for face detection and recognition, accessed over HTTP or HTTPS at api.skybiometry.com/fc/. Supported methods include faces/detect, faces/recognize, faces/train, faces/status, tags/get, tags/add, tags/save, tags/remove, account/authenticate, account/limits, and account/users. Responses are returned in JSON (default) or XML, with support for JSONP callbacks and asynchronous callback URLs for longer operations.

Authentication requires an api_key paired with either an api_secret or domain-based authentication, the latter intended for cases where exposing the secret key client-side (such as in JavaScript or Flash) is undesirable. The service returns facial attribute data, including a dark_glasses attribute distinguishing dark glasses from clear ones, extending beyond the face.com API it is derived from.

Client libraries are available for .NET (via NuGet or source), Python, Ruby, PHP, JavaScript, iPhone, and Java, most adapted from earlier face.com client code and hosted on GitHub. Additional libraries for Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, and Objective-C are available through the RapidAPI marketplace, requiring accounts on both RapidAPI and SkyBiometry. The documentation targets developers integrating face detection, recognition, and grouping functionality into applications such as photo management, user authentication, and community moderation tools.
