Magic: The Gathering database.
Scryfall provides a REST-like API for programmatically accessing Magic: The Gathering card data, available at api.scryfall.com. The API is served only over HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or better and returns UTF-8 encoded responses; all requests must include an accurate User-Agent header and an Accept header. Endpoints, particularly for card data, are subject to hard rate limits.
The API exposes card data and images that are otherwise available on the main Scryfall site, covering objects such as cards, sets, rulings, card symbols, catalogs, and tags, along with bulk data downloads in JSONL format and a changelog feed. It is intended for building additional Magic-related software, performing research, or creating community content such as videos, streams, or podcasts about the game.
Use of Scryfall data and images is governed by the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy. Restrictions include not paywalling access to the data, not requiring payments or account creation in exchange for card data, not repackaging or proxying the data without adding value, and not using it to create new games or imply an association with another game. Image usage rules prohibit covering or cropping copyright/artist information, distorting or altering images, adding watermarks, or presenting images in a way that implies a different creator or source; when using art crops, the artist name and copyright must be displayed elsewhere in the same interface. Repeated violations of these terms may result in restricted or blocked API access.
