PhotoRoom API is an image editing API for automating product photo production at scale, used across marketplaces, e-commerce, advertising, and social media catalogs. It provides endpoints for background removal, lighting and color correction (PhotoFix), image repositioning and margin compliance, low-quality image enhancement (Product Beautifier), automated QA detection of crop and background issues, image-to-video generation, multi-image composition into hero shots, and AI-generated model or flat-lay product photography, including ghost mannequin apparel shots. The API works via standard HTTP calls and can be combined into workflows that take a raw upload through to a finished catalog-ready image, bundle visual, or video.

The service is aimed at businesses processing product catalogs at scale, such as marketplaces, brands, and agencies needing consistent, studio-quality visuals without physical photography setups. It processes over 3 million images daily and is integrated into enterprise workflows including PIM/DAM, CMS, and e-commerce systems, taking incoming product photos and returning them ready for a site, ads, or marketplace listing.

The API is offered in two plans: a Basic plan for the Remove Background API, and a Plus plan for the full Image Editing API (resizing, background replacement, lighting adjustment, shadows). Billing is based on the number of images processed, purchased through a monthly subscription. New accounts receive 10 free API calls to the Remove Background API, and the Image Editing API offers a free sandbox mode that produces watermarked results for testing.
