PayUs-as-a-Service (PUaaS) is an API that returns randomized messages for collecting past-due invoices. It offers multiple tones for the generated messages, including Professional, Frank, Friendly, Funny, and Playful, along with an endpoint that returns a message in a random tone and an endpoint listing available tones.

The API is accessed via GET requests and is rate-limited to 60 requests per minute per IP. Endpoints exist for each tone (e.g. /payus/professional, /payus/frank, /payus/friendly, /payus/playful, /payus/funny), a general /payus endpoint for a random tone, and a /payus/tones endpoint. Responses are JSON, returning the message text and its tone, a list of available tones, or a structured error when no matching messages are found.

The project is open source under the MIT license, built with Node.js (requires Node.js 22+), and can be run locally via npm install and npm start, with PORT and RATE_LIMIT_PER_MINUTE configurable through environment variables. It is intended for developers who want to integrate automated, tone-varied payment reminder messages into their own applications or personal workflows.
