About OpenUV

OpenUV provides a JSON API delivering real-time UV index data by latitude and longitude, along with hourly UV index forecasts for any date and location. Responses include current UV index, maximum UV index for the day, and ozone readings, with clear-sky UV calculations adjusted for cloud absorption and area reflection factors.

The API is aimed at developers, including those building smart home applications, who need sun-exposure and UV safety data. It supports GET-only requests (no POST endpoints) with CORS support, and the provider states setup can be completed in a few minutes.

Pricing includes a free Personal plan with up to 50 requests per day and hourly UV index forecast access, and a Start-Up plan at $15 USD/month offering up to 15,000 requests per day, hourly forecasts, historical and future data, and custom support. No credit card is required to obtain an API key.
