Host.io provides an API for domain name data, including DNS records, scraped website content, outbound links, backlinks, IP hosting details, and ASN/ownership information. Queries can be made for individual domains, returning details such as web metadata (title, description, links), DNS records (A, AAAA, MX, NS), IP geolocation, and related domains sharing the same IP, ASN, nameserver, or backlinks.

The service targets use cases including cybersecurity and threat intelligence, spam and fraud prevention, brand protection, and market research, letting users identify domains hosted on the same infrastructure or track competitor hosting patterns. Data is sourced from a database covering 597,165,103 domains and 530,289,631 websites across 7,059 TLDs, hosted on Google Cloud.

Host.io also publishes domain rankings based on backlinks and hosting data, including a free downloadable list of the top 10 million domains by ranking.
