About Google Safe Browsing

Google Safe Browsing is a Google service and API that lets client applications check URLs against Google's continuously updated lists of unsafe web resources, including phishing and deceptive sites and sites hosting malware or unwanted software. Developers can use it to check pages against the Safe Browsing lists by platform and threat type, warn users before they click links leading to infected pages, and prevent users from posting links to known infected pages.

The API is restricted to non-commercial use; for detecting malicious URLs for commercial or revenue-generating purposes, Google directs developers to the separate Web Risk API instead.
