DocForge is a REST API for converting between document and data formats: Markdown to HTML, Markdown to a styled standalone HTML document, CSV to JSON, JSON to CSV, and YAML to JSON (bidirectional). It runs on Vercel Edge as stateless serverless functions, with a stated average response time under 50ms and no AI or database components involved in processing requests. Endpoints accept JSON via POST and return converted output along with metadata such as word count and extracted headings for Markdown conversion.

The service is aimed at developers who need programmatic document or data format conversion, such as documentation build pipelines or data migration tasks, without maintaining local conversion libraries or subprocess-based tools like Pandoc. It works with any language or HTTP client over standard HTTP and JSON. A batch endpoint accepts an array of inputs and returns all converted outputs in a single call.

Pricing is tiered: a free plan with 500 requests/day and a 100KB input limit; a Pro plan at $9/month with 50,000 requests/day and a 5MB input limit; and a Team plan at $29/month with 500,000 requests/day, a 25MB input limit, and an SLA guarantee. All plans include access to all five conversion endpoints, and the free tier does not require an API key. The site also includes an interactive playground for testing conversions without signing up.
