BuildData aggregates Canadian building permits, licences, inspections, and property data from 68 cities across 9 provinces into a normalized, geocoded schema. Coverage spans ten datasets, including building permits, business licences, contractor profiles, development permits, planning applications, major projects, property assessments, and zoning data, all searchable by address or accessible through a shared API structure across endpoints for search, stats, per-city coverage, and lookup by ID.

Data is delivered through several channels: a weekly CSV feed for non-developers who select specific cities and datasets, an API for developers, and a Snowflake option for loading the full dataset into a data warehouse. Permit data is re-checked daily while other datasets are refreshed weekly, with currency dependent on each municipality's own publishing schedule; 60 of the 68 cities are actively updated, with 8 historical cities retaining queryable past records.
