About Gazette Data, UK

The Gazette is the official public record of the UK, publishing statutory notices under Crown authority since 1665. Its data service provides archival records covering companies (insolvency, filings at Companies House, dissolutions, takeovers, capital changes), individuals and partnerships (insolvency, dissolution), wills and probate (missing wills, beneficiaries, creditors), appointments (civil, church, and military promotions), honours and awards, and planning notices, with coverage dating back to 1900 or 1998 depending on category.

Data is exposed through a linked data API that returns notices in multiple formats, including PDF, TTL, RDF, JSON-LD, HTML, and XML, alongside a SPARQL endpoint and a Flint editor for querying the archives. Developer documentation for the API is hosted on GitHub.

Most content is available under the Open Government Licence v3.0 for free reuse, though this licence excludes personal data. A subscription-based data service is also offered, aimed at supporting risk and opportunity management for business and government use.
