About National Bank of Poland

The NBP Web API is a public HTTP API operated by the National Bank of Poland, providing current and historic foreign currency exchange rates and gold prices. It covers three exchange rate tables — table A and table B (middle exchange rates) and table C (buy and sell prices) — along with daily gold prices calculated by NBP. Responses are available in JSON or XML, selectable via an Accept header or a format query parameter, with JSON returned by default.

Data can be queried as complete exchange rate tables or as rates for a specific currency, using ISO 4217 currency codes and ISO 8601 dates. Supported query types include the current value, today's published value, a series of the last N quotations, a value for a specific date, or a series over a date range, with a maximum span of 93 days per query. Historic data is available from 2 January 2002 for exchange rates and from 2 January 2013 for gold prices. As of August 1, 2025, the API requires HTTPS and no longer supports HTTP.

The API is intended for developers building applications that need Polish central bank currency exchange rate or gold price data, such as financial, accounting, or currency conversion tools.
